D&D 5E A Monster Making tool for 5e

If your computer says something like "Unknown file extension RAR", you'll want to install 7-zip to be able to unzip the DND_monster file. Get the 7-zip MSI here: http://www.7-zip.org/

Then you can right-click on the DND_Monster RAR file in the file explorer and tell it to "extract here". It will create a folder called DND_Monster, and within that folder will be a program called DND_Monster.exe. Double-click on that program and it will start.

Using 7-zip to extract the folder is what FallenWyvern means by "decompress it anywhere."

Good point. I totally went under the assumption that people know what compressed folders are. My bad. I should make an installer for this to save people some trouble.

There's also the fact that RAR is a fairly esoteric format. A nontechnical person has a .zip decompressor built into windows, and he can just click on it and Windows will do the right thing. Not so for RAR.

Windows 10? I get that too. I dunno what it actually takes to be 'legit' to it, but my source code is all available over at github (https://github.com/FallenWyvern/DnD-Monster-Generator) for inspection. Plus .net is super reflectable, so anyone could easily tell if my app was shady and warn everyone. I don't make malware, which is why I open source it: so people can trust my code.

Nope. Still have a Win 7 computer. The reason the anti-virus gives for removal is the low number of users.

I had picked rar because it's my preference and other people had asked me for 7zip with no real benefit other than it's a bit more compressy. Plain ol' zip has the benefit of windows integration... maybe for the next version I should add the option.

Yeah, it got nuked by my AV as well. Cites small number of users and heuristic flags (which is basically AV-speak for "I don't know what this does and not enough people have told me its okay.")

This is awesome. Only thing missing is a way to add "(blind beyond this radius)" and other caveats to a sense.

For most of the drop downs, you can type whatever you wanted. So if you put in "Blindsight (blind beyond 50')" it would but that in the sheet. Mind you it also puts the number in so you'd have (Blind beyond 50') 50'...

I should fix that. If the thing you typed doesn't match one of the drop downs, then don't put the distance.
