And he was descend of Elros, brother of Elrond. So there's that...

Except that Elros embraced his human heritage prior to producing heirs, making his children fully human (albeit special and magical because of the blood link to elves).* Thus, although they (the Numenorean nobility, and later the Dúnedain) were a cut above run-of-the-mill Men, they were still Men. It's akin to, though different from, the special status and powers afforded to those elves who had been to Aman/Valinor, seen the light of the Two Trees, and learned directly from the Valar and Maiar. And just like those "high" elves...the higher you start, the further you fall when corrupted.

*It's a bit unfair, actually; if a half-elf chooses the fate of Men, all of their descendants after that point will also be Men. However, if a half-elf chooses the fate of the elves, all their future children will still be half-elves and still need to make a choice.

Agreed...I might vote for hot chicks with goat hooves, not so much purple-faced draenei clones.

Ironically I am exactly the opposite. Love the Draenei, hate the "classic" Tiefling.

In the end, I voted half-elf. Tieflings are cool, and I love some of the story work done with them (especially in 4e)...but unless they were Draenei-clones (which would be more like hoofed aasimar than tieflings!), I don't think I'd ever play one.

Half-Elves are a stapple of the game, but tieflings, if done in the Planescape style, are more interesting.
I used to like half-elves, but I'm at a point where I don't like half-breeds at all. I know it's too much science, but it seems wrong that humans are biologically compatible with elves (and orcs).

I kinda, sorta, could give orcs a pass since I still remember being 11 and asking my mom what "fecund" meant in the 1E MM entry. If you want to say orcs can breed with just about anything vaguely humanoid, it's an interesting racial ability.

It's weird...I love the Draenei too (my 3rd favorite WoW race after Tauren and Pandaren), but I just don't like the art style that was used for Tieflings in both 4e and 5e. My favorite tiefling art has always been Factol Rhys from 2e Planescape. I don't know, I'm weird. <shrug>
