Technically i don't think anything particular happens RAW since rope trick is not a magic item as explained in DMG 154. In my campaign though, any extradimensional spaces brought into another sucks everything into the astral plane.

Here's my question: what happens if you cast rope trick again within the rope trick space?

The rope stretches out and you can climb to the top and enter the extra-dimensional space. The same extra-dimenstional space, from the bottom.

So you could do infinite-rope-climbing, like a gym class nightmare.
