D&D 5E Green Dragon Lair

Not long ago in my GREYHAWK campaign the party was tempted to go in the Gnarley Forest to find the lair of Chaustichlorinus, the green dragon that terrorize Verbobonc's region. They're south but heading soon there.

Apart from the typical cavern, i am looking for interesting suggestion for a green dragon lair, and possible regional effects if you think of one.

Thanks in advance!

The lair doesn't have to be a cavern. Could be something like an over grown elven warehouse in some ruins. Large trees around a clearing could have various perches and give the Dragon room to fly around.
Most of the ground would be difficult terrain with various pit traps around along with perhaps kobold burrows and narrow paths that are not difficult terrain for small beings.

The MM does a great job. In addition to that, I'd have plenty of traps, and perhaps even minions that specialize in trickery and illusion. Maybe even a clan of forest gnomes who have been manipulated to do the dragon's bidding. That would throw an extra complexity into the pot, as it creates extra dilemmas for the PCs (can't just go kill everything).

Evil Gnomes. I'm making an evil gnome scenario and killing gnomes is alway good.

I am AFB so i don't recall what MM suggestiosn are, but i'd prefer to avoid the typical cavern lair and kobold servants to make this more unique..

I know it will have minions for sure. May be some plant creatures to show how Chaustichlorinus exert his will upon the nature around him.

I like the idea of trapped difficult terrain though to show his cleverness

Things like thorn bushes as well. An overhrown colliseum could be an idea or a demiplane even.

Over grown floating asteroid on a demi plane or astral plane set over a vortex to somewhere unpleasant.

Crashed spelljammer ship perhaps a elven man of war.

Abandoned city with pyramids (think mayan)

Inhabited city full of evil fey or drow. Or just an overgrown version of Rome. Shadow elves as well wood elf Drow stats uses pass without trace instead of levitate.

Coastal forest heavy fog any of the above ideas. Green Dragon is an evil silver dragon with change/alter self ability.

Banyan Trees / fig trees can have aireal roots that can grow back into themselves giving them a realy strange look.
A drageon would have plently of time to have these pruned and guided into growing into it's lair

You could even use old existing material, like this map from Dwellers of the Forbidden City. This lost, overgrown city ruins would make a great dragon's lair. In fact, the lake originally is home to a dragon IIRC.
