If you were a Wizard, what School of Magic would you teach a Tiefling over a period of months?

So, what School of Magic do you think an Old Wizard would point a Tiefling towards over a period of months between sleeping, eating and paperwork?


The Tiefling in question looks fairly demonic with her red skin, blood red eyes, hooves, pointed tail and pointed teeth but you know she's basically a Teenager who is just bored with her life and hasn't really got anything to do

Said Tiefling is probably at a crossroads in her life where she could either turn out normal, good or evil depending on what values you try to instill in her (Or the completely opposite of what you think could happen)

The Wizard in question also wants to start off a "Wizard College" so he kind of has to make a responsable decision as he is kind of lodging in the girl's house with her family and the payment is free lessons


If you cannot remember what the different schools are (in 5e), they are:
- Abjuration
- Conjuration
- Divination
- Enchantment
- Evocation
- Illusion
- Necromancy (probably nope)
- Transmutation

So, what School of Magic ....

Well, does the wizard have a moral conscious? Is s/he concerned with the tiefling becoming good/evil? If morality matters, then that will impact what schools might be taught.

Consider:
Abjuration - pretty neutral
Conjuration - easy to spark an interest in devils and demons and using others
Divination - fairly neutral, might lead to trying to control the future (and selfishness)
Enchantment - neutral
Evocation - might lead to violence
Illusion - might lead to deception
Necromancy - hard not to be evil
Transmutation - probably neutral

Maybe and what you say is true But the thing is, there's not really that much of a wrong choice All Magic can be used for good Also, he's only teaching her for a few months so what could possibly go wrong?

Well All together, they live in a town called Farmoren

Reita's Mom came to the town and works as a Doctor She is purely approved as member of the Town due to her effectiveness, always rational thinking and gentle nature (In other words, she earned her place) She's also a Necromancer

Reita's Dad handles Lumber and Contruction for the town He's very much normal except for the fact he did it with a Tiefling

The two fell in love some how, got together (not married, cause you know, the Religious people) and had Reita

The thing is, they didn't really plan too far ahead and soon found they had no clear idea as to what sort of future they'ed like their daughter to have So yeah Kind of loving but not very creative about life choices

I would teach the tiefling humility.

I'd teach her to be a Bard and spread joy instead of typical misery and angst.

Otherwise, Divination. Conjuration makes her lazy, Abjuration could make her an unnecessary risk-taker, Enchantments is too easy to make people do what she wants, Illusion makes her deceitful, Necromancy isn't evil but eyy Mom does it, Transmutation too easy to exploit. Evocation is a gun.

At least with Divination, she can drink and know things.

1. Pretty much all of the Magic you would expect a Wizard who has been studying Magic for 40 years to have

2. Her perspective of magic is "Mom doesn't do any pew pew magic" and "pew pew magic is a thing" so pretty much anything other than Necromancy would seem cool to her

3. Who knows? She hasn't magic'ed yet
