D&D 5E New D&D Survey

Interesting questions. I voted for Greyhawk - the setting would really suit 5e. The relationship between the edition and setting really matters to me. I just started playing a 4e campaign in Dark Sun and 4e and that setting work really well together.

I was disappointed that the themes section didn't have options for pre-Colonial Americas, Africa, Middle East or broader Asia. I enjoyed al-Qadim and could have fun using fiction/gaming to introduce me to legends I don't know well enough

I wrote it in. Curiously, that, Ravenloft, Arthurian high fantasy, and dark fairy tales were the only things that could stir more than mild interest from me. I guess I'm even more disconnected from D&D than I thought.

Well at least we agree on the Arthurians.

I went with Greek/Roman and Vikings, as along with quasi-Arthurian those are what my worlds invariably have in them somewhere.

I found it a pretty depressing survey TBH. Very much thinking inside the campaign boxes that were established for D&D decades ago!

It was a survey designed by longtime fans for longtime fans. Most people new to D&D would find very little to engage with.

There needs to be a good pirate/sea/island hopping campaign. Hopefully, the Viking one will turn out to be like that.

I voted very interested for "large city-state with multiple factions", but I think it's because I just finished Attack on Titan. Hopefully they go that direction, and not City-State of the Invincible Overlord or something.

Totally going for attack on titan for my next campaign. Large city, surrounded by endless giants that keep humans penned in.
