Coming Soon - Warriors of Waterdeep: a new Free to Play D&D mobile game

Free2Play=garbage :(

Why do they keep wasting the D&D license on everything except a full-featured CRPG?

How do you "waste" a license? It's not like WoTC has a finite number of them to give out. If somebody comes to them and says "Hey, I'd like to make you some money by making this mobile game and paying you for the privilege", they'd have to be pretty insane to turn it down.

I agree is it too much to ask that they show the FR some respect and get really good game developers to make a proper 5e CRPG game instead of pimping it out to whatever goofy idea that comes along. I mean let's be honest most of the games they've made since after NWN2 have been garbage time waster games that end up failing hard and it damages the brand every time they green light junk which ends up linked to FR.

By devaluing the license so far, mostly by using it for bad products, that people stop caring about it or even come to associate cheap garbage with it.

Sword Coast Legends came out in late 2015 and didn't die until early 2016.
It takes more than two years to make a “full featured CRPG”. And that assumes someone else snatched but the license/ rights immediately after SCL failed.

Do you *really* want a repeat of that game? Or would you rather wait for WotC to be approached by someone that knows what they're doing?

Just based on the UI it looks like it's going to be a game of filling weapon/armor slots with items of increasing power.

So, in other words, based loosely on 5e rules but not at all on 5e spirit.

Boo. I've already played enough World of Warcraft, tyvm.
