This may be too tied-to-IRL, but the Healer subclass could be called "Student of Hippocrates". It would get proficiency with a Healer's Kit if the character didn't already pick that up.
I agree that the name needs to be changed. Not only is both oddly gendered and speciated (are only human males allowed to play this class?), it is also evocative of some lazy peasant leaning against a spear at a guard post.
Someone else suggested sentinel. I like that. Marshal is nice, too.
