I've seen several attempts to adapt Earthsea, and they have all fallen well short of the original novels.

The Hobbit--21 This is what began my interest in fantasy fiction. The copy of The Hobbit I had as a child had illustrations from this movie, which still influence the way I imagine Middle-earth.
The Lord of the Rings--20 I've changed this to the correct name of the movie, although "Fellowship" may have been a better title given that the movie didn't adapt the entire novel. I would have suggested calling it "The Downfall of the Lord of the Rings" to indicate its pairing with Rankin/Bass Production's "The Return of the King", although the two films don't match each other remotely in style or tone.
The Return of the King--18 I don't know what happened to Rankin/Bass between 1977 and 1980. This musical numbers in this are really hard to take.
