then who is? Considering that Sonic hasnt been hugely popular since the 90's maybe early 2000's, his biggest fans are at least 30+, gamers with children

Sonic the Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler has announced that “changes” will be made to the forthcoming movie based on the video game after the trailer premiere was met with blistering criticism.

After watching Dr. Robotnik take less than 30 seconds to violate the maxims from If I Was The Evil Overlord - particularly 'I will not treat my subordinates or underlings with such disrespect and contempt that they WANT to betray me and/or help my enemies' - we can confidently predict that he will fail spectacularly due to sabotage and non-compliance from within his organization.

I know Sonic is a pretty one-note character, but they could do with making him more than just "the Flash, but blue and spiky". As it is, his scenes are all very "been there, seen that".

He was always kind of a jerk though. Plus who needs loyalty when you can change everything into a brainwashed cyborg? Well. That is the gist from the game and cartoon at least. Hard to say what the movie's spin will be.

The entire trailer makes it look like this was conceived in the 90's. Complete with Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise.
