D&D 5E Melee Barbarian/Warlock

I've played both the Barb and the bladelock. I recommend using Barbarian and instead of multi- just have him take Magic Initiate. You can have a couple of spells (take ones that don't require concentration) and go from there. Eldritch blast fills the ranged gap nicely and then maybe Greenflame blade or Booming Blade, and Armor of Agathys. Then you can proceed with full barbarian.

But so I can use Armor of agathys just as a 1 LV spell. That mean 5 hp for ever. And I can't use SCAG. And also being a drow i don't have the feat till LV 4, where with that not so hight stats i supposed to get the +2 somewhere.

I suppose here the question is more: it's worth give up an asi, delay lifedrinker and delay Armor of agathys boost 1 or 2 LV more, for get or the damage reduction in practice to everything (that double the damage inflicted with AofA also if they hit me with magic stuffs), or 1d6 sneak attack (with just 1 dip) and maybe cunny action?

Maybe it's worth also get 2 dip more barbarian berserker (instead than bear totem) that give me the damage that I delay from lifedrinker and it's probably better than the bear totem (or the wolf that anyway stack better having a rogue in the party that i actually haven't). Going 1 LV barb than 5 LV warlock, than again 2 dip barb for 3 attacks while raging and rackless defense and than X warlock till I can, or I don't think stay with 1 LV barb and go X warlock it's that bad as I get one ASI more and delay spells and invocation just 1 LV.

The 1/2 dip rogue seem interesting, I get sneak attack, cunny action and save proficiency in the 2 stat I need for get all.
I'm not sure what you mean by that last point. Multiclassing into rogue will not get any additional saving throw proficiencies - you'll still have only Strength and Constitution from 1st level barbarian.

And you probably klnow it already, you won't get sneak attack with a greatsword. Or a longsword, for that matter. You'll be wanting a rapier.

Note that you do get sneak attack if you use Strength for attack and damage. The weapon just has to be a melee weapon with finesse. So, sneak attack does, by the rules, go with rage bonus. I;'m not sure how narrativel you justify sneak attacking while raging, though. :)

Yep, with a rapier, I didn't mean to sneak attack with the greatsword.

For the savings I'm just wrong about the rules, big mistake made without think enought. 😅

Anyway for the bg it's kinda bad to sneak attack while raging (even i don't see any problem in be stealth and sneaky and than surprise your enemies with a barbarian scream while putting them down piercing them in the eye with a rapier before they can see you), while a drow i suppose rage much more in violence and sadism than in scream and foam from his mouth but anyway it s not what I choose actually. I readed about the classes more and I think it's better get to barb 1/warlock 9 (for boost AofA ASAP) and than dip 2 more barb for bear totem if i see that my enemies easily pass my DR to normal attacks (while fire Shield is already a good help as it cover 2 of the most used kind of damage in the game) or wolf if i think to don't need that upgrade of DR, bcs this help me also to flank for advantage and use GWM even without using rackless defense (I wanna be hitted only when AofA is still working), other option is 2 dip Paladin for smites that it's never bad lol. In this way I have also earlier asi's and i can get +2 str at LV 5 and GWM at LV 9 (that with 18 str, +1 pact weapon + 5 avarage from advantage that I can get in several ways -5 of GWM should work with a +5 total) and get all the spells, boosts and invocations ASAP (except lifedrinker).

Barbarian rogue has been one of the most fun melee classes I've ever played.

I'm agree with you, but probably for the barblock it's not the best option to dip rogue while he can get 2 dip more barb (rackless and one totem) or 2 dip Paladin (smites and spell slots) from lv 10 (1 barb/9warlock). Unless you build it dex based with unarmored defense, shield and rapier it don't work and you lose GWM (for Shield master probably that it's kinda cool anyway) for damage while u can add just 1d6 (kinda few) for your sneak attack and cunning action (good enought). If u go to dip more rogue for more sneak attack you lose lifedrinker (+4 or +5 to damage) and all the spells over 5th LV, that while you get them from a not particularly juicy list are anyway powerful and can be useful. It's also true that dipping more you get archetype, but AT don't seem so good to stacks with this build, you already get all the spells you need from warlock list, the assassin looks better but again why 3 dip rogue when I can have 2 dip Paladin for probably more damage and not only that or when i can dip 2 barb and make my DR stronger with the bear totem + rackless and GWM or can get easy flanking, rackless, helping party and a better use of GWM with the wolf one?
