Making Digital Character Sheets?

So, I have a character sheet that I rather like for my game, but I hate filling out sheets with a pencil, and I know I’m not close to alone in that.

So, I want to make a form fillable pdf version, but I’ve no idea what the best software for it is, or how to do it.

Anyone got advise?

morepurplemoprebetter does a fantastic form fillable character sheet for 5e so you could look to that for inspiration. I'm not going to be much help on the software side sadly, but I hope someone else is because I'd also like to be able to create those.

I don't know how possible it is to reverse engineer from an existing product. All the pop ups and drop downs for MPMB's are done in JavaScript if that helps us any...

That’s a lot of skills I don’t currently have. 😂

I would love something like mpmb’s sheets, or something like this that exports a printable sheet. Even something as...lackluster as BnDBeyond’s printable export sheet would work. (I love DDB, but printable resources are not their strength)

Hopefully someone knows what software are good for this sort of thing, and which of those are free vs worth their price.

Foxit PDF editor, Nitro PDF Pro, PDF Studio and, I suppose, Acrobat DC all have that functionality I'm told by google. Fixit is both free and apparently well regarded.
