The latest DDB data suggests that it’s around 7-10 for most but I wanted to see if that holds true here too.

I don’t think the data from beyond shows that. What it shows is what the highest level of most characters are, not the highest level pc you might have played. For example, my highest PC was level 15 from tyranny of dragons. Bit 95% of my characters never hit level 10. So I think those are different questions

I played a level 13 moon Druid who finished Princes of the Apocalypse; every other character I’ve ever played in 5e hasn’t topped 7th level.

We played the whole Tiamat-adventure (the first version of it), and when it was over we dinged to 18. So the highest I have played is 17 as far as I recall.. I played a female half-elf paladin ("fey-knight"). It hink only 2 or maybe 3 characters out of 7 survived the whole campaign (or didn't get changed for other reasons).

As a player, I've only gotten to level 11 before the campaign story rapped up. As a DM, I've run up to level 18, but my players really aren't on this site (except one occasional lurker).

Had no one played beyond 20th level with epic booms. The game doesn’t really start until 20th level. Everything before that is apprentice levels and for newbies. 😉

My highest lv characters in 5e (a 1/2ling warlock {fey patron, chain pact} & her older sister, a 1/2ling barbarian {modified Ancestral Guardian}) are currently both 9th lv.
At the moment they're both back home & between adventures.

But for 5e I DM much more than I sit on the the players side of the screen. So it could be awhile before I can continue either of their stories.
