If you keep looking at the word Disney, it starts to look like a really weird word.

I’ve never been on a theme park ride. What’s the basic setup? Is it sorta like one of the Haunted House fairground things (which I’ve also never been on!) where you sit in a cart and things jump out at you, but with a bigger budget?

Kind of but so much more. It's immersive, at least the ones I've been on, the chair/ship/boat or whatever moves and rocks in a 3D simulator so you feel like you're in the Back to the Future delorean or whatever. I had heard that this new SW one is the best ever made, as far the technology invested.

I went to Galaxy's Edge here in California a few months ago. That ride blew my mind. I got to be a gunner and it rocked. Also, for as long as the line was, it moved very quickly. It's only 2-4 hours due to the sheer masses of people trying to get on. I got there right as the park opened and it was still an hour wait. Apparently they let the Disney hotel guests into the park earlier than everyone else. ::grumble::

Hmm. There's no way to really describe it. Have you ever rode on a Roller Coaster? If not, it's even harder to explain.

Here's the OLD Star Tours (so not showing this anymore, so no spoilers here).

I've posted the original film first...

Or what it would have appeared in pre-production before actually being on the ride. It's probably the clearest and closest you can get to it via computer, though the color is washed out now.

Imagine this, but with in 3d with full motion going on (like a roller coaster or flight simulator).

Or, the alternate experience you could try is from the perspective of someone on the ride. The sound is not as good on this, though the color is better. It is from being in the actual seat of someone on the ride.

You still have to imagine the 3d and full motion (which you just can't get from watching it via a computer screen).
