Pathfinder 2E What do you steal from PF2 for your PF1 games?

I still don't see the point in porting PF2 subsystems back to PF1 (or DD5, for that matter). At that stage in the process, you're no longer playing any of the above games, but a homebrew mish-mash of game systems.
No game has all the features we want. This is the only way to get what we want. For me it is the perfect thing to do, and what I have done since about 1989 or so.
It might well be a good mish-mash, but it's harder for new players to get a handle on it if it isn't all written down in one place.
We don't have new players, so that is a non-issue.

Also, if we are paying PF1 or 5e, do you really think it is more difficult to say: "hey only fighters get OA" vs learning a completely new system (PF2e)? By that measure, what is the point of the Gamemastery Guide for PF2 coming out later this year . Wouldn't be easier for players to play a new game than use variant rules in the GMG? I think the clear answer is no, it is not. A lot of DM's are homebrewers and like to tinker with the rules. That is why we like the DMG and the GMG or make our own. It is much easier to tweak what we know to something we like better (or fits a particular theme) than to start over with a new system.

So for those who maybe don't want to switch to PF2 or didn't like it, etc. What things from PF2 do you consider improvements that you would swipe for your PF1 games?

One of the games in which I'm involved stayed with PF1. (The other game played PF2 through the playtest and for several months after the release, then moved on to 5e.)

I don't really see any major pieces of PF2 as tempting to bring back to PF1. Several months back I would have said the "three action" system, but now I don't see it as that big of a win. It's a little simpler conceptually, and it had neat ramifications for spell casting, but you wouldn't get that with porting it to PF1. It would help with multiple attacks. So, I guess I'll flip my opinion and say "maybe" we'd consider bringing the three action system back to PF1.

I might find some inspiration for a new PF1 spell or feat, but that's true of any game, book, movie, etc.

I could say the PF2 approach to making monsters, but that's not new either. That's what we've felt free to do with D&D/PF1 before PF2 existed.

Hmmmm good idea. I like the idea of other skills being used for initiative

Yeh, some people like that. I only kind of like it in certain circumstances. A local game I'm in brought that with us recently when we switched from PF2 to 5e. I didn't think it worked so well for him in PF2 and it isn't any better in 5e.

The trouble is that I think he over uses it and that something like DEX or Perception are better in most cases for PCs/NPCs who are not initiating combat. Right now, if a thief sneaks up on a Master Chef who is cooking, the thief gets to use Stealth, but the Chef uses cooking? Err, I don't buy it, but that's how he runs it.

Did you ever use/try the PF Unchained three action system previously?
