I learned nerd for this.
It's extremely abnormal. I don't remember a time we've had this much rain. My front yard is a pond. I may need pontoons and outrigger for my car.

It’s the third time in three weeks we’ve been told we’ll get a month of rain in 24 hours. I feel like it’s been raining since about October. I’ve been covered in mud since then, that’s for certain.

I am dreading what the spring is apt to mean for rain in my area. I have been adjusting things in my basement, and making my pumps ready....

I'd been hearing about your weather lately. We were getting hit like that a few years ago; a few months of average rain over the course of 6 hours. Doesn't help that one of the major commuter highways in Toronto acts like a sluice, down toward the lakeshore.

I swear, if I lived near water, I’d at least own an inflatable boat, an axe and a stash of MREs in case of flooding.

That’s assuming I didn’t just live in a largish boat drydocked on my land.

We live on a hill, luckily, so at worst we'd become an island! But the ground is so sodden and muddy (and has been since about October) that I've basically been these guys for four months. I've given up trying to keep things clean - I end up covered head to toe in mud every day!

We live on a bit of a hill...on a reclaimed flood plain. For the most part, we’re safe from ACTUAL flooding.

BUT...

We’re also “downhill” from a dammed artificial lake. The dam bursts, and my neighborhood might get erased from the map. We’re not particularly close to it, but it’s a sizable body of water.
