Zendikar is the ultimate sandbox, with ancient ruins and lots of no-man lands, without empires or kingdoms because it's a too hard world to allow large areas of crops.

We have to remember the time travel and alternate timeline is canon in at least a M:tG world. This means an open door to allow D&D sourcebooks with some little retcons.

I have read the wiki and the metaplot says the Eldrazi will can't play in this league this year. This means no more Eldrazi in Zendikar and now it has to be stories without these. (but asDM I would allow Lovecraftian cults in Zendikar).

* What do you think about planewalkers, or a nerfed version, as a D&D class? Maybe with a game mechanic close to the incarnum magic, but the point of essence could be different mana colors, and the chakras (here the body slots for magic item) replaces with being attuned with special legendary magic items. They couldn't travel across planes, not at will, but at least know where it would be the nearest door (most of times to Sigil).

* Dominaria is perfect for an event as crisis on infinete earths. Maybe WotC is just working in the lore about this.

* I have got a theory. If a M:tG set has had got some CGI cinematic scene, it may be a future D&D world. Then the next ones would be Eldraine and Ikoria.

I believe the in lore reason for the roil was due to the Eldrazi trapped in Zendikar. The plane may have settled down recently after their release and destruction. I'd probably place it in the classic setting with the roil though since that makes it more interesting.

Honestly I would put it in the current time, because you will want to tie into Zendikar Rising synergy. Plus they might have other things then Eldrazi that can trigger the Roil less often, like maybe none native planeswalkers, or left over Eldrazi spawn or Roilmages ect...

Yeah I agree on this one. A lot of Magic fans would devour a Dominaria book, despite how "generic" it is in D&D terms.

The only thing holding Dominaria book back right now is I don't think any set will visit it for at least a few years, we were just there too recently.

Well, their current schema is for three Setting based card Blocks a year, in Q1, Q2 and Q4 (with the non-storyline "Core Set" every Q3).

Last year was the first year for the release strategy, though Ravnica ended up eating three whole Quarters of release from Q4 2018 through Q2 2019. Now they are fully online, and it is three distinct Settings being visited by the Magic story every year in a big way. This time it was two returning Settings and one new one. This seems to be their general strategy at the moment. Given that and the popularity of the latest Dominaria block, we'll probably see it again in the next couple years.

Probably, but it's obviously not this year, and I don't think it will be next year because I think next year will be devoted to villians Oko, Tzezzret, and the Phrexians. I think one setting will be the homeplane if Oko, possibly Shadowmoor, one will be New Phrexia and one will be whatever plane the Phrexians invade, I personally think Innistrad.

Dr. Strange and Nico Minoru (Runaways) aren't like Charles Xavier and Orore Monroe. Starfire and Raven (Teen Titans) are different. The wizard is the nerd who runs the high school science club, the sorcerer in the arts club, the warlock the dealer and the psion the champion of the chess club. It is a different phylosophy or point of view. The wizard wants to study, learn and discover, the psion wants to improve himself. The psion is like the main character from the manga who always is training to become stronger.

A lot of players always want a different character, in the same way ladies don't want to wear the same dress than others.

* I feel confused because the mysthic was a divine spellcaster in 3.5 Dragonlance for the age of mortals.

* Mentalist could be the name for the hybrid psionic + magic.

I'm really shocked that Kamawagi is now leading, even beating Dominaria, I mean it's only a 7/8 on the Rabiah scale and it's plotline is completely wrapped up. Until it starts rising in general popularity and it starts going higher on the Rabiah scale I just don't see it.

It's best shot is getting to be a side bar for a Kara Tur source book IMHO.

Still very small sample size of course .

I think there is a strong possibility that MtG will reach an Asian-themed plane... but I think they've said a few times that if they do, they'll probably invent an entirely new one. Makes sense to me. Also doesn't make it likely for a setting book.

The Bard runs the Art, Drama, and music clubs, and the Sorcerer is the Charismatic Jock/Head Cheerleader.

At least not right away. Isn't Tarkir also Asian flavoured?
