WotC 5E 2020 Book Clue - I need your help!

Right.
Sadly, not a fan of Ravenloft. But maybe this new book will convert me? I'm just not into gothic horror or pocket universes that are completely (mostly) cut off from the rest of the multiverse. Like the whole walk into the mists and end up where you started thing? Not a fan.

He didn't actually say it was Ravenloft; just that if you liked CoS, you'd like this project. That could easily mean something with a horror tone, and I personally believe that it is a hint to a Mind Flayer driven adventure.

Do they mean something horror-themed or a book with a similar structure that will, like CoS did, unlock another official setting on DMs Guild? Now that would make a lot of people happy.

Perkins gave precisely zero clue: theme, setting, book format. He just saw something in his next Adventure storyline book that would appeal to people who enjoyed Curse of Strahd, but offered no explanation. Not a terribly clear hint, since Curse of Strahd is very well received and possesses multiple virtues.

Like @Urriak Uruk my gut feeling is that the storyline will be Mindflayer related (for multiple reasons), so that there is a similar atmosphere of horror and dread.

To be clear, he didn’t say what kind of thing he was working on.

True, not even that much. But we do know, per Adam Lee, that Perkins is heading up a big Adventure storyline book this year. Seems a likely culprit.

It could refer to countless elements, from Ravenloft itself, to an undead heavy AP, to an AP with a major undead villian, to Zendikar which has vampire cities, or Innistrad which also has Vampires and other Gothic Horror or some obscure element of CoS.

Who knows. And that might have been for an different project then the one he just hinted at.
