Are you seriously arguing that humans in the game don't act like humans, because D&D? Because if you are, then every single person that I've ever seen roleplay a human PC has done it wrong.
I'm just assuming that humans in the game act similar to humans outside of the game.
And how exactly are you saying humans behave? According to the arguments you present here, I would expect every person with a bachelor's degree to have studied petroleum engineering, because that's the major that gives you the most power (in terms of earning potential).
But that doesn't seem to be the case.
In fact, I only know a single person with a degree in petroleum engineering. (He's a real estate developer, if you're curious.)
