I'm at a loss....sometimes on my PC when I click on a thread I've read before, it takes me to my last read post. Sometimes, most of the time, it takes me to the first post......Any suggestions?

So, it takes you to the first post if there are no new posts since you last read the thread. Is it possible that's the case here?

If there have been new posts since you last read the thread, clicking on it will take you to the newest post since you last read.

If there are no new posts, clicking on the thread takes you to the beginning.

Also note: If you open a forum to see listed threads, then go to alerts, and see that, for example, someone has replied to a comment you made, and you open that in a new tab...

The original page of threats does not update until you refresh. So the thread will still be bold when you go back, making you think there's new posts, when you just read it 15 seconds before...

Not that this ever happens to me.

Interesting. So, if I read a thread, go back, and decide to post, it takes me to the beginning, not the end? Huh.

Well, it isn't like the board software knows what you recently decided.

I mean, I'm pretty sure you don't want the boards to actually read your mind before you post. I mean, it would make my job easier if it could, but I don't expect that'd be your preference....

I'd rather it always take me to the last post I read, even if there are no new posts.

I know it isn't the same, but at least you can just choose the last page.
If the topic isn't highlighted as having new posts, just click right on the last page. Still more clicks than you wanted, but less than going to the first post.

I think it depends on how you are viewing the website.

For example, it is trivially easy when I am using a computer. I can click on the thread, in which case it will bring be to the newest post (if there are new and unread posts) or the first post (if not). Or I can click on on the "time stamp" of the most recent post (far right) if I just want to go to the last post in the thread. Or I can click on one of the page numbers (it lists the most recent five) and go directly to that page.

....but on the mobile interface, I don't have those options. So if I want to go to the last page, and there are no new posts, I click* on the thread, then have to scroll down to the bottom, then click on the last page.

*Is it clicking when you use your finger?
