Which settings are those? That’s not a trap, I’m genuinely interested?

no idea. I’m told such settings exist and so I take that at face value unless someone wants to dispute that claim. Are you disputing this?

What’s most funny about this conversation to me is I home brew my settings and sentient races are typically NOT monolithically evil in my campaigns. But if someone says they like such things, I’m not going to yuck in their yum.

Wizards have said multiple times your games are your own. Rules are there to help. But make judgment calls your own. Multiple. Many times. People still do not understand. That is on them. Just as bland uninteresting races are on them.
I'm not sure your point. Are you in favour or against bland, uninteresting races? What is your description of a bland, uninteresting race?

Once again, Wizards says, 'make it your own game' but don't provide the tools to do so. Instead of just letting people make bland, uninteresting races, they should provide guidelines for making balanced and interesting races and ways to reskin existing races in an interesting way.

If they provide concrete tools, more people will take as a part of the game as opposed to a suggestion.

I am asking a serious question. But good on you for replying that way.
I'm not trying to put you down at all, but from your posts, it seems like English isn't your primary language. When you finished that post with "What happens." and it didn't have a question mark, my interpretation was that you we posting, "Definitions change. That's what happens.", rather than, "Definitions change. What happens?"

Correct punctuation helps tremendously.

I’m done replying to a bunch of 1 line questions that don’t address any points I’ve made.

Yeah it's almost like (other than one copy/paste from Keith Baker that I need to go back to) all responses are one liners which basically boil down to "orcs can only be evil if they use the same ideas and tropes that would justify evil humans".

I think the legacy of evil monsters issue goes beyond orcs. The difference from a game perspective between an orc and a Babaus is fluff, some stats and a picture. Oh, and less has been written about Babaus so there's less to read into.

i was too. They were ignored by you though. Get back to me when your willing to answer as much as you want answered.
Decide what you want. I did not ignore. I find it offensive you thought I did. Stop doing that.

Definitions change. Be it settings. Be it monsters. What happens. Are they trapped as monsters. Because of inexplicable decisions. Because of deeply unsatisfying decisions. Cannot evil and nuance exist. Why not.

Read the part from Keith Baker. Or is the assumption they are still simply humans. Cos if you still think that. There is no hope at all. Convincing you otherwise is utterly futile. Bow out I will.

Luck to you all.

I asked this: “Im curious why that’s not your suggested solution to dealing with the always evil orc scenario?” (Referring to homebrew)

You gave a comment but not actually an answer to this question.
