OK, maybe a bit hyperbolic, and yes, the announcement of Tasha's Cauldron is recent news, but I suspect the conversation will still revolve around Tashas and not RotFM. I think it shows that expanded character options get a lot more attention to adventure paths. Which makes total sense.

As an aside, how does everyone feel about reprinting subclasses in this book that appear elsewhere (like bladesinger, eloquence bard, etc)?

Doesn't sit right with me, and for people who bought those previous versions have a legit beef, IMO

I'm not buying the SCAG or Ravnica, and if I buy Theros it'll be to DM in it.

Tasha's is a player's book first and foremost, with a bit of stuff for DMs, the SCAG, Ravnica and Theros are DM books first and foremost with a bit of stuff for Players. They've been mixing the two since the start, but in general the books have skewed heavily toward DMs. Tasha's the second book after Xanathar to skew more player-side (and I'd argue it skews EVEN MORE towards players than Xanathar), so of course we're all excited!

I wouldn't buy a book for a single subclass.

Well since we are getting 22 Subclasses+the five reprints, that ain't a bad thing at all. I don't have the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide, but now I'll be able to have the Bladesinger now thnx to Tasha's.

* Now if they don't include reprints of Booming Blade, Green Flame Blade, and the rest of the SCAG Cantrips, then yeah that's gonna suck.*

And I am still hyped for Frostmaiden. Especially since I got the gorgeous alt-cover pre-ordered.

I have no issue with it. I bought Theros and Ravnica and I will buy Tasha too (most likely). It is not the first time they have reprinted player information. It happens quite a lot actually. Doesn't bother me, but I know it bothers some and that is OK.

Not sure why you think I should have a "beef" with Tasha when I already have SCAG, GGtR, ERftLW, and MOoT. I will purchase Tasha for all the material I don't already have, no big deal if it has content I already have.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to pre-order this. I am just about finishing up Avernus and want to run Frostmaiden next.

It sits right with me. Setting specific stuff often gets left out of options for games. But Xanathar's, and I suspect now Tasha's, will be open to a lot more campaigns. Which opens up those classes and subclasses to a lot more games than had they been kept setting-specific.

It was more of a comment I heard from Nerd Immersion when he brought it up on his review of Tasha's. And it's a fair point to some, I suppose. For someone who buys all the books anyway it's moot, but if someone bought Theros for the subclasses, and then sees this where they could get the same subclasses and a lot more, they might not be pleased they spent the money on Theros.

I have NO problem with material from setting books (Eberron, Wildemount, SCAG) being reprinted into Everything books. Everything books should be the go-to source for player options.

Setting to Setting? No problem. Sometimes things exists in more than one setting.

I would only have a problem with things being reprinted from one Everything into another Everything book. I also hope they keep being named X Y Z Everything, because it's cute and I want to keep calling them "Everything books."
