Opinions on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4ed?

She's actually a riff on a character in his Anno Dracula series. Not Warhammer, but well worth checking out. It's like the League of Extraordinary Gentleman, but all vampires from books, movies, TV series, folklore, and more.

I'm currently looking for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and I was wondering what were your opinions on this one? I'm looking more for fluff than anything, I don't plan running this (at least not this year).

I bought the HC. I was sorely disappointed.
I couldn't even force myself to finish my cheat sheets...

It's not rich on fluff. Just enough to evoke the setting.

If you buy the book and others I think the fluff is okay. I think it has more fluff within the book than 2e had in it. Fluff wise, if that is what one is after, it's a good basic foundation, though for those who already have fluff from the myriad of 2e books, they already have far more than what this book can offer.

I don't like the 4e combat system and revert more to a 2e style of combat (or even 1e style). They made combat more complex in 4e, and while it means that advancement is more unlimited than previous versions, it also makes combat more of a headache to figure out at times.

I'm totally noob on Warhammer lore, the only things I know are from the two Total War games.

I love Warhammer, but I have nothing good to say about the 4th edition ruleset.

In fact I believe it is completely misguided and broken, and that you are much better off running your wonderful Old World Adventures using any other edition.

Do you feel the HC has a lot less fluff than earlier editions?

Im looking at the 4e section on Glorious Reikland and it comes to 22 pages about the empire, including history. The races and careers sections also seem to have a lot of fluff. It’s difficult to compare with 1e as the buying guide part is kind of rolled into the fluff.
