Any love for Old School Blue out there? It had been a while since I did one so I figured it was time to do another. Here's the results. Click to enlarge.



Map Details:

• Grid Size: 36x46 10' Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1272x1623
• Areas 1 and 42 have covered pit traps. The pit in area 42 is activated by the adjacent false door.
• Areas 1, 2, 12, 24, 27, and 35 have pillars.
• Areas 1 and 25 have statues.
• Areas 3 a), 10, and near 38 have bars/gates.
• Area 3 b) is a chute trap.
• Areas 11, 12, 28 a), and 38 have open pits.
• Areas 11, 13, 21, 28 b) and c), and 42 have false doors.
• Area 25 has a dais (with a statue).

Back in the 80s I worked for a company that created local street plans for estate agents to give out to clients. We used to do them white-on-blue as part of the printing process, which involved cutting away an opaque film from a transparency.

That's correct AFAIK. The light blue would scan as a washed-out light grey on earlier photocopiers.

Here is the October 23rd, 2020 Friday Freebie map. Click to enlarge. It is the second piece of a much larger 'puzzle' but can be used as a stand alone map.





Map Details:

• Grid Size: 36x46 10' Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1229x1578
• Areas 1 and 5 have pillars.
• Areas 3, 15, 29, 41 have false doors. The double door outside area 40 is also a false door (with a secret door hidden within it). There is another false double door in area 41.
• Areas 4 and 28 have covered pit traps.
• Areas 5, 19, 18, and 30 have open pits.
• Areas 6, 7, 9, 29, and 41 have statues.
• Areas 6 and 41 have daises/raised platforms.
• Area 6 has an altar.
• Areas 7, 10, and 41 have magical mirrors that can be used as portals as long as one knows the command word.
• Areas 17 and 37 have tapestries.
• Area 27 has a pool/fountain.

This map popped up on my memories on Facebook since it was originally posted a year ago today. I figured I would re-share this map here as well. It's an appropriate Halloween themed map.

Map Details:

• Personally I call this one, Beltar's Fane. Beltar is the Greyhawk god of malice, pits, and deep caves. The cave network started as a series of natural caves that were expanded to take the shape of a demon-like skull. The skull shape helps to channel and focus the natural chthonic energy of the caves.
• Natural stone steps lead down into area #1 a).
• Area 1 b) is a series of hand & foot holds within the cliff ledge for climbing down into area 1 c).
• Area 1 c) has an altar.
• Areas 1 c) and 37 have statues.
• Area 5 a) has a small boat.
• Areas 5 b) and 6 represents water. There is a submerged tunnel that connects areas 5 b) and 6.
• Area 5 c) has an island with a magic circle.
• Area 15 has a covered pit trap.
• Area 16 has a sarcophagus.
• Area 37 has a brazier.

Map Details:

• Grid Size: 36x46 10' Squares (72 dpi); VTT Size: 1272x1623
• The three top corridors and the single right corridor have collapsed and are strewn with rubble.
• Areas 1, 11, and 12 have pillars.
• Area 7 has an open Pit.
• Areas 9 b), c), d), and e) have covered pit traps.
• Area 10 b) and 20 have rubble.
• Areas 11, 14 c), and 15 have statues.
• Area 12 has a large circular pit )surrounded by pillars).
• Area 15 has a dais (with a statue on it).

This map can be lined up with my last OSB map (Oct 20, 2020). Together they would look like this (click to enlarge).

• The dash lines are elevation lines showing the location of the lower corridor.
• Areas 1, 27, 29, and 36 have statues.
• Areas 5 and 21 have tapestries.
• Area 9 has a chute trap that drops the unwary to a lower level.
• Areas 9, 11, 20, and 31 have false doors.
• Area 12 has a trap door in the floor (that connects with the tunnel near area 39).
• Area 28 has a pool/fountain.
• Area 29 has pillars.
• Area 29 has a dais/raised platform with a throne on it.
• Area 33 has a natural ledge/platform.
