D&D 5E About the artwork...

Sure. Certainly there are things that are objective. There are even things about art that are objective - for example, the elf’s cloak is objectively green. But the quality of art is absolutely not objective.
I understand that, but it isn't just subjective vs. objective. There's also inter-subjectivity, or that which exists between multiple minds, as well as what could be described as "depths" or "levels" of subjectivity, based upon a variety of factors such as aesthetic intelligence, knowledge, experience, etc.

Take ice cream. One could argue that objectively, two brands of ice cream are just that: ice cream. They're composed of milk and/or cream, sugar, possibly eggs, and various flavorings. If you like one more than the other, your subjective preference is no more or less valid. On one level, that's true, in the sense that personal preference is always "right" - it is what it is. But that excludes any kind of inclusion of recipe, ingredients, texture, flavor, or culinary sense. Ben & Jerry's uses higher quality ingredients than America's Choice, and for the ice cream connoisseur is much better.

There are objective things you can say about the different recipes. What ingredients they use in what quantities, how fresh they are, where they are sourced from. But any assessment of their quality is subjective.

It’s funny. Almost everything posted was people saying what they like 🤷‍♂️
Many posts were indeed that. Some of them were this:
can we in the future be spared of your acid trip induced visions, starting with this:
a blond elven Shang Tsung painted by 12 year old?
the half orc in the phb? Not good for example.
Contrast that with Bruenor in the front of the phb....
My response was directed at the latter.

Personally, I'm liking a lot of the images I've seen lately from 5e. Much better than the oversized weapon, "Charlie's Angels Pose" &"Dungeon Punk" artwork we were getting a while back. I really got tired of Reynolds' work for a while there, it just wasn't my style.

I always thought that elven ranger had downs syndrome.

The art in every edition has pieces that are hit or miss, plenty of art from earlier editions people have lauded as some if their favourite art of the edition and I just thought it was terrible. I definitely like that image of Tasha, I think it is an excellent and evocative piece of work. The ranger though, not so much.
