D&D 5E Backup/replacement character ideas

So, my level 15 Battlemaster fighter has been taken out and the party cannot get him back right now... So I need to bring in another character.

Currently the remaining party is a Warlock (Fathomless) and Bard (Spirit from UA), a wizard (conjurer) and a warrior Sidekick.

So, I was thinking I still should bring in someone who can fight a bit, but I am torn. One character idea was a gloom stalker ranger who has been hunting in the area they are in (old dwarven kingdom in ruins).

Any thoughts?

I think the most effective (and most likely to survive) high level warrior is a paladin, but you already have two classes with high CHA, so that seems a bit much.

I’d personally go bladesinger, but I love wizards.

An eldritch knight with a 2 level war wizard dip is a very effective warrior with the added bonus of rarely filing a saving throw.

Yeah another high charisma character probably would be a bit much. I don't really want to bring in another arcane character since there is the wizard, warlock and Bard in the party. I definitely would entertain a bladesinger if there weren't already three arcane casters.

Are you able to use the Wildemount book? If so, then Barb 2/ Echo Knight X (with Sentinel/ GWM) would be my choice for that party. You want somebody who can hold the line and still deliver a beating and that build has all the tankiness + battlefield control you can wish for, with non-stop reckless great attacks on top.

Other ideas would be Gloomstalker 3/ Battle master X, Gloomstalker 5/ Shepard Druid X, any kind of Twillight Cleric build.

Perfect, I would definatly go with some kind of Echo Knight build then. One of the most fun and interactive martial builds there is and it packs a HELL of a punch with the right feats.
