Dragonlance Dragonlance or Mystara?

If I had to choose between one of these two settings to run a 5E game, I'd choose. .

I'll take Mystara. No Kender, no overwhelming metaplot, better adventures and Tortles over Kender.
Actually no Kender is a dirt simple change(?).
You just tell the players that Kender are not PC option for this campaign. And then you never introduce anything to do with kender as the DM....
Voila, no Kender! :)

Oh, and there's nothing that says there are no Tortles on Krynn.

If you're playing Krynn Kender kinda there I suppose. One reason I don't play Krynn.

Probably wouldn't allow a Tortle pc on Krynn, Mystara probably.

Well sure, Kender are "there". In the background somewhere. But "there" =/= where ever your adventures are taking place.

Imjinda big on each setting has its "unique" races or iconic at least.

I would expect Kender in a Dragonlance game or at least the option.

I'm kinda off Dragonlance. The only interesting part of it is the War of the Lance and earlier, before most of the books slowly turn it back into generic fantasyland. However, I'm not interested in grim or gritty play, and I think that's what that setting and time calls for. I'm also not interested in Kender or Gully Dwarves which, while acceptable characters in a book, are godawful characters in most campaigns. The worst part is they're always on camera when they're PCs. If I never hear a "no more than two" joke again it will be too soon. Nevermind other player-hostile mechanics like draconians trapping weapons on death.

I'd rather have Mystara, generic fantasyland #6934, because at least there I can play D&D without Weiss & Hickman's questionable game design ideas getting in the way masquerading as lore.
