Cannot be player and DM at same time.Sure it is. You don't have what you want? Make it happen. Do it yourself. Be the change you want to see. There's nothing healthier than treating the hobby as a hobby.

That's not a problem unique to this topic, it's a fundamental aspect of the gamer condition. I'd love to play in one of my own campaigns. And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.Cannot be player and DM at same time.
I see said the blind man.You are assuming I have bias.
The majority of setting being any set of settings is bad for D&D. Making the majority of settings kitchen sinks is just as bad or worse
D&D isn't a single setting game.
I legit had a player want to play a centaur. I mentioned some things might be harder or inconvenient due to his size, shape, and hooves. I specifically mentioned boats. He said none of that was in the book so I would be cheating if I tried to have some verisimilitude in regards to his character being a centaur.Centaur: You're gonna need a bigger boat

Good thing that has not and will not ever happen. There will always be those who allow pretty much everything under the sun. Most of the posting on your side of things isn't about making sure that those things stay(because they will and your side knows it). It's about poopooing on the more limited settings that others prefer. That's what it is, bro.
The majority of worlds are restrictive historical worlds, LOTR restrictive worlds, and kitchen sinks.
People who want those are served. People who don't or want to try new or weirder things are not and must sacrifice their player role to serve someone else.
D&D fans who have what they want dismissing the desires of those who don't is not healthy for the community nor the game itself.
I once saw the blind leading the blind at an intersection.I see said the blind man.
Not sure I agree, but I understand.

I once saw a mute lady "yelling'" - in sign language - at an airport. She wasn't making a sound, but her fingers were flying fast and furious with exaggerated movements and the expression on her face said she was not at all happy with the person to whom she was signing.I once saw the blind leading the blind at an intersection.
Yes you can. Run one, play one.Cannot be player and DM at same time.
