Arguing in good faith, doesn't mean I have to automatically accept your positions because you make points.
It means that you're willing to. It means you are willing to engage in a discussion where each side backs their claims with evidence in order to persuade the other side (and possibly other people). It also means that if you are proven, through good faith discussion, to be in the wrong, that you are willing to accept that. You have shown no such signs of arguing in good faith debate, especially with your recent "Lol no" post (which I must applaud the eloquence of. Surely your 4.3 decades on this planet has graced you with a silver tongue that one of 19 years old cannot comprehend ).

If you had proven these safety tools to be harmful to the hobby and the people at the table in general, I would have accepted your position. You did not do that, so I haven't switched positions, and you have argued that you don't need to prove it. That's clear-cut bad-faith debate.

I won't argue with your political leanings, but merely point out you have co-opted some of their language and rhetoric to prove your point.

I am just speaking frankly. And I think reading my language or my argument as a cypher for my politics is a really insulting thing. People can be liberal, not conservative, not right wing, and think safety tools are a dumb idea

Maybe that is because you are projecting assumptions onto me and what i am saying
No, it's because of what you're saying and excusing with your posts.

Again, you may not be doing this on purpose, but you are loudly and proudly promoting insensitivity to mental issues.

It's not an inference, it's what you're actually saying. Especially the part where you accuse of people of lying about their issues while admitting you have zero evidence.

Probably because your reasons for saying it's a bad form are themselves bad. If the form doesn't have everything you need on it or isn't formatted in the way you like, then make one of your own or include a second sheet of paper. Or tell the player to write up their thing the way they want to.
Wow you made such a strong case for that, I'm totally convinced by the way you went through them one by one and made sound reasons for disagreeing with them .

I'm 38. I highly doubt 5 years is going to drastically change my opinion on being compassionate to people who sit down at my table whether I "Believe" they're hurt or not.

It's not a matter of being out of touch. It's not a matter of wisdom.

It's just a matter of you ascribing malicious motivations to people because that's the narrative you want.

They're not "Really" mentally ill. They're "Pretending" for Social Clout. They're not "Really" uncomfortable with certain topics. They're "Pretending" to fit in. They're not "Really" traumatized. They just want to control you and your games.

This narrative places you in the position of Arbiter of Truth. Of who does or doesn't deserve compassion for their real or imaginary problems. Of the long suffering hero faced with an onslaught of enemies as the world crumbles into ruin around you.

It's a very attractive position to place yourself in.

But to most others it comes across mostly as paranoia and dismissal.

Anywho! This'll be the last time I post in this thread on this topic. Have fun, y'all!

and it's a bad "start" because it fails at providing information. You& @AcererakTriple6 have literally ignored every reason I gave for it being bad & repeatedly just thrown the responsibility of doing anything more than checking a box on a form that gets presented as some kind of thing the GM is entirely responsible for

Then give CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM where you identify the problem and suggest how it could be improved instead of just crapping on it and not providing any fixes
It's not perfect, but can do better?

And the DM is responsible for what happens at the table. They decide when to call for rolls and the result of said rolls. They're not a robot. If things are going to cross a line then they can change the narrative.

Also what the heck does it tell me when Alice does this?

That they need to fill in the accompanying blank?
