D&D General Bag of Holding in Bag of Holding(No) Large chest shrunken in Bag of Holding(?)

Question
If having a bag of holding puts you at risk of it going off and killing you when you go through certain things, does the same happen if you shrink a large chest, put it in your pocket, and do something similar?

Have gotten the impression that a bag of holding has some risks which can make carrying one like wearing a suicide bomb.
Bag of holding and portable hole for instance.

Does putting a shrunken container in one, through a portable hole, or anything else cause a shrunken item potential kill it's carrier?

Additional
Would encasing a shrunken item in a non-magical sealed container protect it from anti-magic fields?

Even if the rules allowed it, would you let such a combo be allowed in a game?
Shrunken large container, sealed inside non-magical container to protect from anti-magic, with a small airlock-ish area to allow the user to walk into the shrunken space, place (Blank), and unshrink after passing through the airlock-ish?

Additional
This is also assuming that a shrunken chest inside a shrunken chest is not allowed.

The question is based on vague memories of hearing, reading, who knows where, that Bags of Holding are great!
...Just that it's possible to go into something like a persons magical house... and have it basically explode.
Killing you.

Bag of Holding combined with Rope Trick was one of the combos I think.

I like living.
However those things sound really useful, so tried to find a work around and came up with shrunken container.
However, anti-magic field, and splat. Or drowned. Or anchored to the ground in a fire-fight.

Then came the shrunken metal cone hat.
Wear it, and when you enter an anti-magic field, it unshrinks, falls down around you, blocks the anti-magic field, and you teleport away.

So wrap a shrunken container in non-magical metal, add an airlock or method of teleporting-shrinking in, and tada! Poor substitute for bag of holding!

But can it still kill you by accident?
And even if the rules would allow it, would you?

"Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, portable hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened."
"Rope Trick - You touch a length of rope that is up to 60 feet long. One end of the rope then rises into the air until the whole rope hangs perpendicular to the ground. At the upper end of the rope, an invisible entrance opens to an extradimensional space that lasts until the spell ends."

It does not kill you, it just opens a portal to the astral plan that could kill you depending on what you have access to. It does ruin your BoH, and you lose everything in it. A shrunken chest and the like are not extra dimensional spaces, and pose no risk.

The issue used to be putting an extra-dimensional item inside an extra-dimensional space. In the case of a shrunken item, you'd have no issues in 5E or older editions. Additionally, IIRC the ONLY interaction in 5E is between items, not spells.

With the text that D1Tremere posted, you should be safe unless you go stuffing bags into each other/portable holes.

It specifies items a couple times, so it shouldn't react with spells or other effects (Rope Trick, M's Mansion, etc.).

The DM could rule otherwise, but that should be something that is either common knowledge among adventurers, or at least allow an Arcana check for the information.

Nice to hear odds are high the rules would allow it.
Now how do you feel about allowing something like this to exist?

Original idea was to have an armory inside the shrunken room and do magical girl teleporting in and out of equipment.
Spell: Benign Transposition (Altered: Clothing focus)
However, this might be capable of so much more.

Bag of Holding substitute
Portable lab
Portable base (Stealth?)
Troop transport
Etc.

Granted, anything which requires a person to put themselves at risk of...
Nah, it's still there.
Either anti-magic is snuck inside and expands the shrunken room through the non-magical metal shell, potentially causing the usual shrunken object risk, or an adamantium shell prevents the expansion while a person is inside and they're pulped.

Having a shrunken item that allows you to pop in, and also shrink, sounds like "complicated" (read: high level) magic.

If you're mostly interested in the magic girl type gear swap, having something that directly did that without the shrunken armory flavor might be more reasonable(?).

In 2e there was an item called the Bracelet if Charms, that could change weapons into charms that dangled from the bracelet, and it could be transformed into one of them when needed.

Maybe an item that could store a suit of armor and one or two held items, and then swap them onto you when activated?

I submit that the rope trick spell is not a handy haversack, portable hole, or similar item. A bag of holding can be brought inside the extradimensional space it creates with no ill effect.

How do you propose shrinking these items? The Enlarge/Reduce Spell only lasts for up to 1 minute or until the caster loses concentration.
