Hey, Morrus, any idea of what a Retailer pledge tier might look like for a print product? I'd like to carry Level Up at my FLGS, but I wonder if it's financially viable (especially when factoring in shipping costs).
I haven't worked out the pledge levels and price points yet. Still waiting on printing/shipping quotes.

Question on the fund goal of $10,000. If you don't mind me asking, how did you decide on that? I am pretty sure your art budget alone was significantly more than that, not counting the costs of everyone else who has worked on this project. And I'm confident you'll bypass that goal in hours, if not minutes after launch.

I'm always looking for best practices for my own projects, so I am curious as to how you landed on that and not more. For example, the Chromatic Dungeons KS of mine that just ended had a goal of $8000 because that was my break even point, but admittedly there was risk of not getting it. With Level up, and your communication/marketing reach and strategy, and popularity of 5e in general, I have to think you'll have no problems meeting your goal and blowing past it, so I'm wondering why you didn't set it higher to at least match the money you've put into it so far.

Just curious of course.

It's a placeholder for now. Like I said above, I'm still waiting on printing/shipping quotes. But like you say, we've spent the development costs up front; we're fundraising for print runs.

@Morrus , have you brought this up on any of the gaming subreddits? I haven't seen LU discussed a lot there (although I admit I haven't been spending quite as much time on reddit as I used to), and you could likely drum up a lot of interest in the KS.

I've been bringing it up in the PF2 Subreddit on posts to the effect of "Man I wanna play PF2 because 5e is boring but my group doesn't want to switch" as it seems like the perfect compromise, and people seem pretty interested in it. I feel like I am far from the only one who wants a game to play with friends who love 5e that isn't, y'know, 5e.

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I like 5e's underlying math (bounded accuracy is WONDERFUL), but after a while, it starts to feel a little samey. I think A5e is just what the proverbial doctor ordered. Some extra depth and some more options without getting rid of the stuff that genuinely works.
