There is stubble on his face but it isn't very noticeable. Adding a beard won't be a problem. Are we talking just a goatee or full beard?

Yeah, unfortunately the only trimmed close options are stubble options under the Decals section. The beard options are bit limited in my opinion. Here's a different stubble version is a bit more noticeable.
