World building idea: Jupiter-sized Earth

And the Dyson sphere doesn't have to even be solid, does it?
No. In fact, Dyson's sphere isn't a solid, but a cloud of individual satelites, not a single structure, per Isaac Arthur (and a number of others)
It might be more like a cage surrounding the star.
Yep. Isaac Arthur shows these often. Literally a bunch of ringworlds. But you cannot connect the polar ones to the horizontal ones

It could be a great geodesic sphere with some some of the faces filled, each a separate "planet". Each of the these "planetary panels" would likely entirely different from the others.
Not plausibly without artificial gravity. Only the equatorial band would be plausible; the polar faces would lack centrifugal pseudoforce to keep things from falling in. Including the ring itself.

Soo... The Shell World ideas up there gave me two ideas. A Jupiter sized geode... Or a Jupiter sized egg...

Yeah, those two simply defenestrate realism, and go straight into the wildly fantastical, but I love both now.
