Level Up (A5E) Level Up's Future?

I know Level Up just came out but I was curious about this. What is the intention going forward with this system? Will it branch off from D&D like Paizo did with Pathfinder from 3.5e and become its own entity entirely that was originally inspired from 5e? Or will it be the case that whenever WoTC release an edition of D&D, Level up will make their own "Advanced edition?"
Could be something else or none of them at all. Was just wondering :)

I can tell you what I want to do. But this is all just hopes and dreams right now.
For the latter, that would consist of:
  • a fantasy cultural setting book written entirely by people from that culture
  • a genre book, starting with future, then modern, etc.
We need to do what WotC isn't doing. They make adventures, so we don't need to. Their adventures will work with our game. We can do sci-fi, and modern, and cultures they aren't doing.

One of the main design goals for Level Up was compatibility with WotC's 5e, so I don't anticipate it branching off. But who knows? A lot can happen, in the future.

Thanks for the response. Already supported on Patreon for the Gazette and am really loving the changes to the system. I homebrew a lot myself and it's really nice to have a system that I can point to that has a few things in it already rather than explain to people my hb rules.
Look forward to whatever comes out :)

What about expansions within the fantasy setting? More archetypes, spells, races, cultures? Psionics that isn't just a reskinned sorcerer? Expanding some of the sections like journeys, strongholds, or crafting?

They have a new publication, Gate Pass Gazette, that's going to be specifically for a5e. That doesn't mean en5ider will never have a5e content, of course.
