Ferguson-Avery is quite good; I got the Into the Wyrd & Wild kickstarter recently and really dig his stuff.

As an aside, I finally got a copy of Tasha's and really likes some of the 1/4 page character sketches a lot. I was happy to learn that the artists names.for each piece are near the bottom spine of that page. (Monsters of the Multiverse does that too).

Yes, I remember that cover. Dragon artwork was phenomenal back in the day pre-internet when finding quality art was difficult.

I've been seeing some newer art that has a jagged, decayed, yet stylized look to it. Stuff like the art in Mork Borg, or this artist, Thiago Lehmann:

What are the alternatives? If I were to get an artist to create something new and fresh, can you point to particular art styles that are cool and hip. I think if I were to pick one, I would like something gritty and dark.
