Dragonlance Free Monstrous Compendium Volume II Includes Dragon Highlord Verminaard

Over on D&D Beyond you can grab a copy of Dragonlance Creatures, the second digital official Monstrous Compendium volume. This volume includes entries from the original Dragonlance Chronicles storyline of the 1980s, such as Dragon Highlord Verminaard (at CR 17!) and his dragon, Ember, along with the Forest Master (the unicorn from Darken Wood) and others.

Oh yeah 100% I’m just looking at this from a conversion standpoint and I’m like “oh. Uh. Guess 5th level as the start for Dragons of Autumn isn’t the intended anymore!”

Nice! Some missing DL monsters/NPCs that were (reasonably) skipped because they didn't have much to do with the actual adventure.

I like Ember, Verminaad, and the Foresworn.

Also, they are reinforcing the "distantly related to Oni" thing the Idra have by giving them Oni style single horns.

This once again reinforces that "if you want to play" as an Oni Mage in 5E in the simplest way possible, without doing any sort of DM style work, just refluff the Firbolg.
