This is why I will lie on the surveys, make them think I'm a fan, plant false playtest results under the guise of helping out the brand, telling them things I think will help their business:
"I would gladly pay $1 for access to this feat." "This species upgrade is worth the $5." "So glad you revoked the OGL 1.0 - we don't need content like Spelljammer ship combat." "Chris Pine is a big, bankable star - not basically a guy who hasn't had the lead role in a hit movie in a decade."
I really didn't like him as Captain Kirk, but then I didn't particularly like the new Star Trek reboots anyhow. Even with the brilliant Simon Pegg.

Yeah no idea how they will filter this one out. Suppose half the folks around here dont think they look at it anyways.

If I had registered to be on their site, I would give them a honest answer. I do not know what will shake out over the next several months with the OGL problems. I would want the game to be the best since I will likely be playing it. I'm not registered because I do not have FB or other social media.

Chris Pine is low-key the best Chris and I will hear no besmirching of his name.

It remains to be seen how much of the OGL backlash is from the Extremely Online contingent. The loudest voices in the room are pretty much in unison, which will make a difference, but it remains to be seen exactly how hard this will hit their brand as a whole.

3PP Twitter and internet forum threads comprise an incredibly small percentage of the fanbase. The people who mostly just buy the official books and play are hardly going to notice, let alone care. And that's probably a lot of players. At best they may be concerned with the ethical implications, but it doesn't really impact the way this very, very large group of players interact with game.

It'll make an impact on their OneD&D playtest feedback, but decidedly less so on their bottom line.

If you care enough to answer the survey odds are your invested enough to care about the OGL.

I think that discounts all the people who only care about themselves and their own experience. They still will care about One D&D, but they dont care about all the people who's livelihoods are at risk because of the naked corporate greed.

One D&D, The One Ring, Phyrexia: All Will Be One....

Hmm seems like there is a pattern here.

In the meantime, WotC is relying on the good will of the player base to test out its OneD&D ideas. I wonder how long until the next playtest packet comes out, and how folks will react. Could get spicy.

How can they rely on any information generated in these circumstances? Is the OneD&D play test about to become collateral damage?
It's going to come after the response to the OGL, so it depends purely on how that goes.

Oh, I think OneD&D is over now.
The good feeling, positive spin, promoting the "best" role-playing game of all time "playtest" I think is over. With the community vitriol, it will be impossible for the designers to get helpful feedback.
We'll still get 6E, but OneD&D is done.
This makes no sense to me. Even with the backlash I don't think this will affect the game plans that much.

Don't do this. I get you are bitter, but just be honest.
