If it isn't worth 4 pages it isn't worth putting in the book at all.
I don't agree, but I don't think your wrong either.
But I cut my writing teeth 20 years ago. Maybe I'm just out of touch. It wouldn't be the first time.
Out of touch with this product, but I don't think your desires are out of touch.

I cut my teeth about 40 years ago nd the only lore I wanted/knew was in the MM, MM2, & Deities & Demigods monster entries and/or appendices. So that is what I like - weird little bits of information that leave a lot to the imagination.

Ouch! I got my dragonlance bundle (both of them) within 2 weeks. In fact I was able to mail the 2nd one as a gift and it arrived at its destination before Christmas!
Lucky for some!

I submitted a support request ticket 21 days ago. It took a week for them to send a generic "we're overwhelmed by support requests at the moment so it's going to take us a while to get back to you" message, which was followed two days later by a message from an "escalated support agent" who informed me that my "order experienced an error in making it out of the warehouse on time. Unfortunately, this issue affected several customer orders and had to be thoroughly investigated before we could respond."

My case was then handed over to the Wizards Scalefast Store Team. A rep from the Scalefast team told me she had sent my case "for further review by the relevant department to see what we can do here for you. As soon as I receive further information, I will contact you again." That was 11 days ago. I haven't received any updates since then, and the tracking info hasn't changed in all this time either.

If it is metallic dragons behind the Golden Vault, it couldn't be Gold or Silver or Bronze, not by their RAW alignment (=lawful good)

That only leaves Brass and Copper.

I don't know about that. Lawful is usually described as following a code. I'm not sure Dragon Law and Human(oid) Law line up exactly. I can certainly see Dragons being arrogant enough to assume that they don't need to follow any 'mortal' laws while they're doing what they think is right. Besides, it's their minions who are doing any law-breaking.

Also... what was said above.

Not sure how I feel about a heist-but-not-really book of heists. Just make a book for murderhobos who want to rip people off. Not everything needs to be church group-approved.

I echo the thoughts about there being a missed opportunity in having dragons running a thieves guild. And, again, even good dragons like their hoards -- just let the thieves steal stuff in return for the dragons getting a cut. Not every adventure needs to be about saving the day.

So, for people who've got the book, are there any new monsters, magic items, etc., that would be worth buying piecemeal on DDB?

Yeah, I'd definitely drop a lot of the moral high ground while running this, myself.

Edit: Actually, I might keep the idea that the Golden Vault SAYS they're "good"... but they really aren't!

Yeah, but we got quite an excellent write-up on the Radiant Citadel with that book. (It was just a shame that the actual adventures made no use of it.) We also got quite a meaty write-up on the Yawning Portal Inn as the preface for Tales from the Yawning Portal, and a thorough write-up on Saltmarsh and its surrounds for Ghosts of Saltmarsh, and a decent write-up on Candlekeep for Candlekeep Mysteries. So I was expecting something similar in this book - a decent write-up of the Golden Vault organization, perhaps using the faction rules from Ravnica, and maybe a description (with map) of their headquarters or something.

Yes, it is. I'd love the early access, but I don't want to be stuck with no hard cover for several months again. (Good thing I'm not planning on running Dragonlance any time soon!)
The Yawning Portal writeup was both odd, and completely irrelevant to the assembly of Adventures, so I think this may be about a wash with that. Candlekeep and the Radiant Citadel did get quite good write-ups: it strikes me that the reasont o make the Golden Vault so light is that a DM could just make them into Candlekeep or the Radiant Citadel government without blinking an eye, or the Harpers, or the real villains, or what have you. My first thought was to file the serial numbers off the Golden Vault and just make them The Chamber in Eberron, but it looks like it conveniently doesn't need much filing.
