I picked 7, 8 and 9 even though I had only watched The Force Awakens. The New, New Hope feel of The Force Awakens discouraged me from seeing the last two Star Wars films. It would have better if the producers had taken one of the post Return of the Jedi books and made it into a movie or another trilogy.

Which post Return of the Jedi novel is best left to another poll. ;)

1. Rise of the Skywalker
2. The Last Jedi
3. The Force Awakens

I'm going to ignore for a moment that they absolutely crapped all over the original triology in what I can only describe as character assassination and undoing everything our heroes did. The tiology just isn't cohesive. The Last Jedi made me hate Poe, who I really liked in the first movie, I hated the casino, I hated the whole chase, I hated the mutiny, and I hated the weak ass death of Luke Skywalker. And then in the Rise of Skywalker we find out it was the #%#%# Emperor behind it all? Well, why the %#%# not? Why start caring now?

Voted for II and IX AotC/RoS. The animated movie would be number 3.

Then it's probably TPM or TLJ. Last Jedis not bad as such but its a poor sequel. TPM is kinda worse but more coherent if that makes any sense so it's a toss up between those two. TPM marginally better on rewatches VIII and IX get worse more you watch.

I forgot the Ewok movies. As a kid they were fine now throw them in with AotC I suppose. RoS is more stupid than God awful.

Solo is underrated IMHO.

I picked just one, Attack of the Clones. That's the only one I have no interest in sitting through again. Solo would probably be my second choice - I bet the Lord & Miller version would have been a lot more fun.

I voted for 8 and 9.

I didn't mind that 7 was a retelling of 4 because I recognize it needed to get a lot of younger people invested in the SW universe.

Then 8 came out which I assumed was a continuation of 7 (that's how trilogies work!) But instead it was just a completely different story using the same bunch of characters.

9 came out and tried to force the sequels back into a trilogy box, but it was a straigt nonsensical mess.

Why on God's Green Earth did Disney not have an entire trilogy story arc be hammered out before filming and then film it?

And Caravan of Courage! And Battle For Endor!

I need all three of those movies on the poll so I can rank some movies beneath them!

I actually like Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor. Other than the fact that they're obviously made for a younger audience (and extremely lower budget) than the original trilogy, I don't get the hate.

Yo, the prequels are stiff and often boring, but at least they're coherent, and at least attempt to have character arcs. The Rise of Skywalker was narrative gibberish, with heroic seeming moments that are wholly unearned and character changes that are completely unmotivated.

TLJ I can forgive because JJ Abrams effed things up with TFA. Luke's a hermit? There's suddenly a giant new Empire 2 Electric Boogaloo? All of the heroics of the first trilogy were pointless? And then the movie ends with a cliffhanger as you finally see Luke? That's not an easy thing to follow up on and have it be satisfying.

I voted only for TROS, because I hate it so much I don't want to dilute my hatred by also voting for merely 'bad' movies. Ep 9 was wretched.
