Those of the Astral Seas: The Zevites
The Astral Plane is filled with many wonders, most of them beyond mortal reckoning, but there are those that make their homes there: the zevites. On a plane where they are often outsiders and strangers even in the world they were born to, they are a people on the move, for on the Astral Plane all things are ever in motion. Regardless of where a zevite is, however, they are people with a lust for life itself. But this comes with a dark reflection, because they also hate with a deep-seated passion. This article introduces the psychic zevite heritage, as well as two related cultures: The Children of Zev and the Zevanchists. By Rachel Williamson.
The Mines of Herekda
Many, many centuries ago, so far back that even the oldest elves could scarce recall hearing the name, the dwarf prince Herekda came to Brentur. Unsatisfied with the cold iron and precious gems the mines there already produced, Herekda drove ever deeper into the heart of the mountain and there, according to legend, something consumed him. This article introduces thematic exploration challenges, magic items, and monster variants that can be used together or individually in your games under the mountains. By Marc Kenboi
Tertiary Casters
One does not need a lot of magic to get an edge from it. While many adventurers choose to specialize in the use of magic, others merely dabble—and find that even their limited spell knowledge gives them some useful capabilities. This article presents three archetypes for just such characters and a basis for similar casters. By Peter N Martin
Life of a Combatant
For some, fighting is life. There are those that grow up constantly embroiled in combat, whether in street fights or on the battlefield. Through tactics, focus, or unconventional brutality, these warriors have learned from a young age to utilize whatever is needed to be victorious. The following backgrounds are for just such adventurers, whether well-schooled or self-taught. By Tyler R Lee.
