Good luck with your Kickstarter but don't we already have this right here for free?
not my kickstarter lol, I found out about it on the ghostfire gaming podcast.

I think they are looking to do something professional and more widespread.

Also believe it or not, Enworld was paid for by a kickstarter.

What is fascinating, and the reason for the smiley face, is its quite a leap, to just leap in.

Still, a place where people don't leave toxic comments, which is 70% of enworld, would be nice.

70% !?

Nah. I think ENWorld strikes the right amount of moderation. A little spark is good. When things get uncivil, much less toxic, the mods are quick to step it.

There is no real information about the WatchTabletop to know what if anything they'll to avoid "toxicity."

Always good to have options and competition, but I don't think ENWorld deserves your digs.

It is just the nature of the internet. I would say 70% of threads have toxic comments in it, probably 90% if the thread went past a page. Reddit hides them by default, one of its keys to success.

Its always the issue when a forum is mostly the same 100 people sitting in it for 10-20 years.
e.g. this should have been a great thread but soon breaks down.
it takes a special kind of person to stick around to participate.

I do agree the mods on enworld are probably the best compared to the rest of the internet. How they suffer it, I do not know.

I think a new format, where people can just view the news direct, without all the garbage, could be good.
However I think the effort required to get there, is incredibly daunting, to keep it fresh for years and years, in low news cycles. Yikes.

The reason Mastering Dungeons, and the likes of Teos, is so popular, is because the format keeps it all positive. None of the same people polluting every single topic of discussion with their hot takes.

Anyway, I was just passing through, good luck.

Boy, this is a loaded phrase, post-GamerGate.

I am all for the professionalization of geek news, but I would avoid anything that might even accidentally sound like a dog whistle.
Yeah, "for gamers by gamers" is fine, IMO, but "real gamers" feels rather gatekeeping.

I can't help that whenever people write or talk like that to take a bit of an antagonistic attitude. "Okay, I'll be sure to avoid your site. I'll be over here enjoying ruining your hobby by enjoying playing how I want to with my friends."

Fair enough. But ENWorld already does that.
