Dragonmarks are easily a Background. How would this affect Eberron? Dragonmarks, Khoravar and House Lyrandar, House Medani, House Tharashk, etc.? Would an entire campaign setting have to be revised for this initiative?
They really ought to get another name because 'halfling' is kind of a terrible name for 'short people'. But that won't happen until the word hobbit enters the public domain.

Ability scores are only used for ability checks.

Star Trek Picard feels more like a roleplaying session than Star Trek... and it has Legolas in it... and Terminator vibes...My reactions to this are, in order: It's an elegant solution that sidesteps the need for balancing mix-and-match traits between dozens of playable humanoids, I don't particularly like it, wait... it's essentially Mr. Spock (a Vulcan human/human mix with the mechanics based one parent).
If it's like Star Trek, it must be good!
(with a few exceptions)
season 3 is good.Star Trek Picard feels more like a roleplaying session than Star Trek... and it has Legolas in it... and Terminator vibes...
and it is not bad at all...
