Really? Fooled me with that picture of your music space.
Was never my thing. At one point not long ago I considered buying a mic and amp in the event that I had people over to play with, but never bothered. Every once in a while my brother will come by and we'll hang out and play but none of my immediate friends I hang out with now play.

When I was in high school there was a group of us that got together on a regular basis to jam but it never amounted to anything, and I got sick of lugging my gear around to play for an hour here or an hour there before everyone was too baked. I'd usually end up having to leave it at someone's house for a few days and I really wasn't cool doing that and had to worry about someone stealing something. Eventually back then I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the hassle.

I got ahold of an old friend about 2 years ago and just in passing we started talking about playing guitar and he never knew I played. They were looking for a guitarist but after talking about it for a few minutes it was apparent that schedules just wouldn't work out and it sounded like the bassist was unreliable, so I declined the offer. I'm content to play when the urge strikes me, make a little noise by my lonesome and am grateful that my neighbors don't care. For me its like any hobby, expensive, enjoy having fun with and something you learn along the way but never master. Sometime the tinkering is the best part.

No need to convince ME! That’s more or less my own attitude. It’s just that the sophistication of your setup deceived me.

I’m currently the owner of 29 guitars, one A/E bass (seen above), 2 guitar amps and I don’t know how many pedals. But I don’t have a dedicated practice area. I generally play sitting on the edge of my bed frame, or on a stool using headphones and a Korg Px4 or Px5 when I’m away from home. What recording gear I own has never been used for that purpose.

The pedals have changed a little, but this is my synth setup. The Microbrute is a small analog synth, but it really does have a wide range - squelchy blips, menacing noisy drones, melancholy Vangelis-like tones. The glowing device sticking out of the upper left of the mixing board is a pink noise generator, which does what it says on the tin.

Im just one man drinking beer, smoking really good flower and I kick out he Jams now and again, Jeff Buckly Styk\le not the MC5. . I've known the guy that grows my weed since I was 15 and the rest is history. waiting on some Bruce Banner...its a hybrid. Anyhow Im not advocatingit to younger folks but it really helps me. Curbed my crippling anxiety and panic attacks. So Id say to each their own, small steps until you know how it makes you feel. In just like playing because it makes me feel sienna and on Neptune. Girsl Scout Cookies has a tendency to do that to you. the weed, not the actual cookies. If you are ever in Buffalo, NY, look me up, we'll rock out..

I'm about 25 or so deep myself. But they are all different, beautiful and lets face it they all deserve names, I have a transparent black SG named Cleopatra. I never knew they were so light, the SG.

So we went to go see Omar Rodrigoez Lopez at the Town Ball Room in 2010ish? it was billed as not the Mars Volta but they came out and played the entire Nocturniquete record before it was even released. That kicked ass.

Playing it now, weighs a ton. Id bet 9 out of 10 people dont know that the guitar solo for Stairway To Heaven was a Telecaster not a Les Paul.
