Spelljammer has a pretty big discount at 45% off, as does the Rules Expansion (Tasha's, Xanathar's, Monsters of the Multiverse) at 60% off. The latter I suspect is because the current edition is seen as outgoing. But I think the biggest discounted book (and has been for some time) is Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft at 66% off. Baffling, as I didn't find VRGtR to be bad and it's got good reviews, but to have that much of a discount sure seems a lot of people must have passed on it.

Purely anecdotal: Van Richten's might've been over-produced as a response to the popularity of Curse of Strahd. It hasn't been uncommon to see 10+ copies of it sitting on the shelf of my FLGS for two years after its release. (In comparison, other books have 1-3 copies on the shelf.)

Shame those discounts aren't for the Alt covers.

There are large brick & mortar stores that also have a large presence online and often they have the alt cover versions in their online stores for a discount, at least until they sell out. For example, Miniature Market has both the normal and alt cover versions of Bigby's for $48 right now.

Oh I know that. I frequently get my Alt Cover DND books from either Minature Market or GameNerdz.
