Sonic has amazing drinks and chicken and bafflingly bad burgers, at least in Southern California. The drinks and ice cream, though, amazing.

Sonics' burgers taste like someone took a salt lick and shaped it to look like a burger.

I'm not saying that they are too salty, but I am saying that when people who bathe in the Dead Sea eat a Sonics' Burger, they're all like, "Woah, have you thought about floating on that burger?"

I love Zaxby’s chicken fingers, especially with the Atomic sauce. Doesn’t hurt that they were founded in my town :) They are multi state now.

For burgers, give me Cook Out, or give me death. Best burgers around! Try the Carolina style; it’ll change your life.

When I was in SoCal for business in May, I got to eat at a Del Taco for the first time in 20 years. Not as varied a menu as it used to have (I loved getting rice and refried beans with my meals way back when), but still a pretty good fast food taco.

I still haven’t forgiven Taco Bell for buying out Zantigo like 37 years ago, and for getting rid of the Chili Cheese Burrito 20 years ago. Man, those burritos always gave me heartburn, but were totally worth it (and cheap!).

Oh! I'll add Burgerville not sure if it's multi-state). After being diagnosed as allergic to wheat and gluten, BV has one of the better GF buns available. Most fast food doesn't have GF options.
Culver's is probably the only fast food chain I can think of near me that has a GF option for their burgers. My wife has to eat a GF diet, so we decided to give that a try once in a drive-thru order. When we got home, the bun was in its plastic bag still with the rest of the burger separate. We were pretty confused about the thought process that went into preparing our order.

It's true. But to be fair, I feel this way about most of the burger joints on this list.

It's a little bit sad to see that Chipotle didn't make the list.
