The first wizard still has pointy ears though, and good luck getting the half-orc to be 'muscular' and still female! Yeah, I suspect you'd get something pretty usable eventually if you kept on trying, but it's more out of random chance than anything.

Note D&D, but last year I ran a Savage Worlds adventure, in which one parallel Earth had been taken over by the cyborg chimpanzees it had tried to use to replace human soldiers lost to a world wide plague (long story).

I think that art to train AI should be opt in if it isn't in the public domain, with whatever agreed up relationship the AI company and artist cone up with. It isn't going away and has legitimate commercial and cultural value, so we might as well use it for good rather than evil.

Agreed. I would love it if there was an AI this powerful which used an ethical (public domain/copyleft/opt-in only) training set. Heck, I'd probably even support something like that on a crowdfunding site if it looked achievable.

We are in very early days. I suspect there is all kinds of venture capital flying around to all kinds of plans, and at least some of those are going to lean into the ethical concerns.

* I don't advice pictures with too many human faces, at least if these aren't repainted by profesional artists.

Some pictures are so good even you could sell merchandising with those.
