I'm not sure why you are scrawling on the sections you are. The second highest total 8 week sales number is during the period you say is declining by Bookscan. And one of the lowest is during what you consider the high period.
I am not scrawling, that was Teos Abadia. I also gave no timeframe… I assume you mean the lines here, and that just means outliers exist, nothing more

And to be honest I expected that the March 2020-December 2021 period would be the high point for obvious reasons that have nothing at all to do with the actual game.
you can find an explanation for these datapoints, no idea how accurate it is, but they do show a decline. I posted this because @Hussar kept asking where the idea of a decline was even coming from

Did any of those things make the previous history not have happened? No.
Greedo shooting first rather than Han just shooting him? Absolutely 100% a retcon. So Yes.

And as pointed out there was the entire Legends continuity that had its canon status downgraded from dubious to alternate universe. Also remember there were two inompatible Clone Wars series even before Disney bought Star Wars.

The thing is that without the maths and just with someone drawing random lines on a graph to push an agenda we don't know which the outliers are. The scrawl is such an obvious agenda-push that it undercuts itself. But sorry for assuming it was you who made it.

take the lines away if you want to, the points towards the end are still mostly lower than the points in the middle, except for that one case.

If you want to wait before calling it a trend, be my guest - although I have no idea whether we get another set of data in 12 months or so

I used to own a bunch of FR booklets(?) from 1st edition that filled in info that the box set missed. Honestly they kinda nuked the realm needlessly three times. I personally think the time skip wasn't bad, R A just wasn't done having drizzle beat a dead horse. 3rd edition ravenloft was the best version.5th edition ravenloft is a really bad when you compare the two.

Faerun has had multiple big change up but before 4E they never nuked 90% of the iconics. Even Drizzt's crew was shredded to the bone. Caderly and his family/friends. Blackstaff. The Seven Sisters, how many of them are left alive (and not ghosts)? And of course wonce they realized how much that sucked tried to fix it. Oh. Drizzts friends all got reincarnated by his god (whim he now dismisses btw). Minsc was turned to stone! Volo also found a way and no did this famous NPC and that one. And blah blah shenanigans to try to right the ship. Still a lot of casualties though.

See my comment above.

But I'll give you Han and Greedo. Nobody's perfect.

Yes, it was official. Lucasfilm even had a person in charge of canon.
If I remember correctly, the novels et al (everything not the films) were officially at a lower level of canon. When Disney came in, the films, Clone Wars TV series, and everything they've produced since were and are at the same level of officialdom.

So an explanation was provided. That a given person wishes it were different or doesn't care at all doesn't change that fact.
