D&D General Does WotC use its own DMG rules?

I've decided it's not chess because the pieces are metal and I get up with a plastic set. So real chess is played with plastic pieces.
That’s disingenuous, and you know it. I didn’t like 4e for the same reason I don’t like chess - I’m not really interested in tactical combat boardgames, I’m interested in fantasy escapism.

Don’t you mean 50 years?
I respected TSR. They put out a lot of great stuff, and started a global hobby that millions of people love today in many forms, in addition to bring very important to me personally. I'm sure some people feel the same about WotC's offerings, but they were standing on TSR's shoulders.

Sure, but they were also incompetent amateur business people, highly litigious and a bunch of back-stabbers.

I don’t care about the state of WotC’s soul, I want them to make money and stay out of the hands of the many companies that are much, much worse.
I really don't care how much money they do or don't make. I care about well-designed and considered games, no matter who makes them.

That’s what I got from skim reading, but presentation is everything.

And I have to say, the new DMG has the best presentation I’ve seen in a D&D product. I might actually buy it!
People do seem to like the presentation. I'd be happy to read it, but I can't justify giving WotC $50 for the privilege. My gaming dollars find better homes.
