D&D (2024) D&D Beyond Thanks Community

My biggest fear is the inevitable move to more and more Beyond exclusive products, but then physical product just fade away.

On the flip side I'm not that interested in the direction 5.24 is going with its power creep and ever present magic. So maybe this saves me money....
They are releasing 5 large hardcover books and a box set in physical. Physical releases are not going away. They might get more premium and pricey over time, though, but who knows.

Dungeon & Dragon magazine articles did not signal the end of print RPG books, and neither do Beyond releases, if they should come.

Nothing specific in the post, but when Parmandur suggested Beyod exclusives it got me thinking about how digital exclusive are used to get people on the "app" and then slowly the model changes from physical to digital releases.
This, however, is the current path. Books won't go away for a long time, but digital will be the priority. Those sweet recurring subscriptions with no printing or shipping costs are understandably enticing.

But Netflix still sends you DVDs, right? Right? :D

I mean, they did signal the end of print Dungeon and Dragon magazines. While I agree that that D&D books aren't going away any time soon, that might not be the best analogy to demonstrate your point.
I meant articles in the print magazines.

Yes. Both these things. Probably best just to try to let WotC news past for the next while. That's what I'm trying to do.

They haven't officially announced their big campaign book yet, have they?

I think they talked about red wizards of thay.

Could that be one of the things they have up their sleeves?

As in an adventure? Yeah, there's nothing yet announced for 2025 other than the starter set. The other known books are setting books and monster books.
The Dragon Anthology is a book of Adventures. The Starter Set is releasing in the slot where the big campaign books have released over the past decade, so it seems there isn't one coming in book form.

Have they ever done a year without a big campaign adventure?
