D&D General The New York Times on D&D

I don't understand why you are so staunchly opposed to this.

If you understand your players as well as you think you do, then the cards would never get used.

So why does this affect you? Why do you care so much?
I don’t but I see their point. Why was it necessary? Does it help or hurt the brand

I’m just bringing up the argument

Let’s go with for lots of people maybe something they don’t want. Elon sees what wotc does and buys it. Now maybe Felicia says bye

It’s an article in the newspapers. I’ve read multiple versions of the article. Many are not flattering and the comments sections are also not flattering

It’s it miss Felicia

But that’s in the article

There was no need for these changes. When I was little I watched Rudolph where 1 of the elves wanted to be a dentist. The show came out in 1964

There was no need to say. It’s no longer required that all dwarves be —-. Right you could always be a dentist even in the 70’s. What you have done is weakened the game

Orcs around goblins are no longer inherently evil! What are we doing here. Eventually it becomes a different game all together

Wotc already has a lot of haters for being greedy blah blah. Wotc gains nothing by doing this. You’re not bringing back the haters. Now you’ve got the New York Times and all other
Media shining a not so flattering piece on you
Okay seen enough of this one.

I have my answer!

I know my argument is absurd but let’s play it out

Same scenario but your at the d&d convention Tostito bowl . Player raises the x! Guaranteed a judge comes over. Judge-hey Bob the spiders are scaring that person over. Can you take those out or I’m going to ask you to leave
Maybe find a non-absurd example to make your case, because apart from the absurd part, I see no problem here

eh, they are not doing this to bring back the haters, they are doing it to update the game and keep it current. The NYT article is old news for the TTRPG community, if you are stuck in the 1e mindset, then keep using that, WotC was not going to sell anything new to you anyway...

I guess here I’m in the minority and clearly keeping Felicia company For me I looked as it was unnecessary and it was a national story the brand didn’t need.

I buy a lot from wotc and probably a bigger cheerleader than a lot here
